Robot & Dog is her debut full-length novel of genre-bending fiction: part urban fantasy, part fictionalized memoir, and entirely a story of the author's own spiritual awakening and the oneness of all creation.
“I don’t write in a single style — I write in truths. My work moves between voices, because that’s what real life does. Sometimes it’s raw, jagged, obsessive, like in Killing Cousins — the part of me that doesn’t edit out the chaos. And sometimes it’s lighter, allegorical, almost fable-like, like in Robot and Dog — the part of me that processes pain through tenderness and humor. Both are me, just different facets. My strength as a writer is refusing the box: I put the masks on the page when they’re useful, and I rip them off when they’re not. What connects all of it is honesty — even when it’s messy, even when it worries people. I don’t want safe. I want real.” --Angela

I am far too long-winded, and far, far too hopeful for this world-
Maybe I'm not supposed to be kept or loved for long.
But instead betrothed to float like a wished-upon dandelion seed, from here to there, wherever needed.
Not to land, but simply to spread hope.
An oft bittersweet task
Absorbing and transporting this hope
Providing fuel and fire for wishes and dreams yet unrealized, giving pieces of myself seed by seed
Until only a stem remains.
Those seeds blown through the world, growing and becoming more than could be dreamed without this lonesome ambrosial wind.
Victual hope for the gods, for those breathless dreams.
To see dead seeds buried, rising strong to bloom again.
And with quiet brevity of months and years, without fanfare or applause.
To fold into the dust.
A withered stem.
Nothing remaining of me but vague and fond memories in those who have changed.
I think I am ok with that.”
